ALPHAMERIC SOLVES AN INDUSTRY ISSUE FOR INDEPENDENT BOOKMAKERS - CYCLOPS FROM ALPHAMERIC

Since April 2007 UK horseracing has been supplied to the bookmaking industry by two separate betting channels. This has created issues with content management in an industry where screen display is geared towards a single supplier. Major bookmakers have developed solutions to this problem and ensure the large central screens in their shops are focused on the next betting event regardless of which betting channel is showing it.

Cyclops switches both pictures and audio seamlessly between providers. Customers now need only to focus on a single screen in the main TV gantry to view both SIS and TurfTV pictures enabling independent bookmakers to offer the same service to their customers as the majors.

Managed with a series of templates overlaid on to the existing live video, Cyclops video and audio routing is controlled within Alphameric’s Studio. Information lines within the templates will be updated regularly with latest news or promotions of upcoming betting events and as a race off message is received the screen will immediately change to display full screen video. The templates will also contain prices for the ‘next race off’ and other stats/information pertinent to the day’s betting events.

Cyclops enables Independent Bookmakers to maintain a high level of revenue churn by presenting a betting event every 5-7 minute generating a high level of revenue by giving customers all the information they need to place bets on a quick succession of betting events from the central screens within their display system.
