1ST DECEMBER 2009 - CONTRACT TO SUPPLY THE TOTE


Alphameric plc announces that it has secured a multi-million pound contract to equip the Totesport Retail estate with its latest in-shop EPoS and display systems and entered into a new five year maintenance agreement to provide support and maintenance services for the equipment.

Background to Alphameric plc and its subsidiaries (together 'Alphameric' or 'the Group').

Alphameric is a leading provider of end to end technology solutions to the gaming market in the UK and the Republic of Ireland comprising Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) systems, display systems and a range of other value added business focused solutions principally through its 100% owned subsidiary Alphameric Solutions Limited.

Alphameric is also a 50% shareholder in AMRAC, the joint venture company between Alphameric and Racecourse Media Services Limited (which is in turn owned by a number of the UK's foremost racecourses and Racecourse Investments Limited), which holds exclusive licences with 31 racecourses to broadcast pictures, audio and data from these courses to licenced betting offices within the UK and Republic of Ireland on its television channel, TurfTV.

EPoS, Display and Maintenance Contract

Totesport Retail, part of the Tote, is one of the UK's largest bookmakers with over 500 high street bookmaking shops. The Tote offers a range of multi-channel betting solutions including on-course, off course, telephone and internet betting solutions as well as an online casino.

iTerm, Alphameric's next generation bet capture and settling solution, takes advantage of the latest technologies to deliver a functionality rich, modular EPOS product on Alphameric's bespoke hardware platform, iTerm.  iTerm is driven from central control software broadcasting a wide range of sporting and non-sporting event data to the shop terminals and ALBOS III display systems.  Fully integrating with iTerm, Totesport will also be installing ALBOS III, Alphameric's advanced display technology in all of its shops.  Totesport will also benefit from Alphameric's latest Feature Card, a solution that will give Totesport shops greater channel capacity and switching options.

Both solutions and the head end system will be fully supported by a five year maintenance agreement.
