| 23rd November 2009 - ALPHAMERIC ANNOUNCES NEW CONTRACT WITH MARK JARVIS RACING |
|
Alphameric Solutions Ltd, the leading technology provider to the bookmaking marketplace, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract for the provision of its new service, Option8. Mark Jarvis Racing, one of the largest independent bookmakers with 75 betting shops, becomes Alphameric’s first customer to take its innovative Option8 communications solution. Option8, designed for independent bookmakers with five or more shops, is a unique communication solution that enables bookmakers to benefit from lower communications costs across their entire estate including the head office. Option8 is a managed service that provides a combined communication package for bookmakers: many of the products in a bookmaker’s estate require need to connect to an ADSL line in order to communicate with the supplier’s or bookmakers own network. Bookmakers with Fixed Odd Betting terminals need to receive updates to those terminals, Closed Circuit Television pictures and data need to be transmitted to Head Offices and EPOS systems need to refresh data real time. Historically to service these requirements, bookmakers have needed separate ASDL lines for each supplier. Alphameric’s Option8 removes that requirement by enabling the majority of third party systems often found in a bookmaker’s estate to share the same ADSL line and delivering significant cost savings. Option8 provides an integrated backup solution with its 3G failover, switching automatically to 3G if the ADSL line fails. This ensures that each shop has an ‘always on’ communication solution. As a managed service, each customer also benefits from a proactive monitoring system, providing in-depth real-time analysis, detection, diagnosis and alerts of network outages and performance issues for routers, switches, wireless access points, servers, and any other SNMP-enabled devices. Dave Cox, Mark Jarvis’ Racing Managing Director comments "Alphameric’s Option8 Managed Service brings many benefits to the Mark Jarvis estate; not only will it significantly reduce our annual communication spend, it will provide more budgetary control with a fixed monthly fee per shop. Each of our shops now only need one ADSL line to accommodates S-POS, FOBTs and CCTV all of which can fail safe to a 3G connection if need be.. Clare Barber |
