Alphameric, the leading betting shop technology provider, is delighted to announce that it has successfully brought to market new technology enabling independent bookmakers to integrate TurfTV data alongside other data feeds, including those of SiS. Alphameric Advantage (ADS), which eliminates the problem of Licensed Betting Offices on an SiS or Alphameric system being unable to access all relevant data, was launched to the industry in December 2008 and has already generated substantial interest from independent LBOs. Previously, independent bookmakers had been unable to receive TurfTV data, including for the popular South African and virtual racing products, causing operational problems as on many occasions the odds displayed on TurfTV differed from the unofficial data that was provided by SiS. Bookmakers also experienced a delay between “live prices” via TurfTV and “industry prices” via SiS which were delayed, in some instances, by as much as 20 to 40 seconds, exposing the bookmaker to potential fraud liability. Alan Morcombe, Chief Executive of Alphameric commented: “We are delighted that this issue has now been solved for Independent Bookmakers, and interest in this new service has been very substantial. With the recent announcement from SiS that it intends to introduce ‘SiS Guide Shows’ for some of the same TurfTV content, I would like to clarify the main differences between the two alternative solutions: Alphamerics Advantage Bureau is the only service that will provide independent bookmakers with the official prices for the full program of races shown on TurfTV, including South African Racing. It is only by using Alphameric Advantage that bookmakers can ensure that the prices as shown on TurfTV are the same as those used within Alphameric’s Display and EPOS systems.”
