| 16TH JANUARY 2012 - RETAIL INDUSTRY EXPERT, TIM KENNEDY, JOINS OPENBET RETAIL AS VP OF SALES |
|
A series of new developments announced for OpenBet Retail as part of the overall strategy for the pure-play technology business. Tim’s role at OpenBet Retail will focus on driving the sales strategy forward with the major customers and manage the roll out of the OpenBetPromote product in the UK and to large international bookmakers abroad. As a software-only solution, Promote is designed to provide a vibrant cinematic betting experience and creates an immersive in-shop atmosphere that cannot be replicated online or on mobile. OpenBet has also granted an enterprise license to SIS, the leading supplier of pictures and data to the betting industry, to resell OpenBetPromote, marketed as SISPromote, solely to the independent LBO market in the UK, Ireland and small independent bookmakers abroad. Another significant development this month includes the cessation of OpenBet Retail bureau and hosted operational services (Bureau Service) that will result in OpenBet no longer offering any hosted services. This falls in line with the company’s overall strategy as a pure-play technology company. David Loveday, Chief Executive of OpenBet, said: “OpenBet is continually evolving and developing to ensure that we meet the ever changing needs of our customers and the market we operate in. Today’s announcement marks another step on our journey to become the pure play technology company in the international gaming sector. The retail division is, and always will be, an integral part of OpenBet’s offering and Tim’s appointment is a clear sign of our commitment.” Tim Kennedy, VP of Sales, OpenBet Retail, said: “OpenBet continually looks at new ways to innovate and develop the products that it brings to existing and potential customers. As the retail market quickly evolves, OpenBet, with its Promote product, a strong pipeline and the right choice of partners, is ideally placed to shape how it might look in the future. With a strong list of current customers, exceptional content and a good clean reputation, OpenBet is at the forefront of online gaming and how that can be used to help customers update their retail offering for years to come.” Tim has vast experience in the gaming industry with particular skills in sales, product marketing and sourcing both in the UK and internationally. Prior roles also include Network Products Director at Gamestec and Technical Director at Bell-Fruit Games.
