Alphameric Plc (“Alphameric” or “the Group”) PROPOSED DISPOSAL OF THE RETAIL BUSINESS

Current trading and prospects

Following the Disposal, the Group’s activities will be focused on the Leisure and Hospitality divisions, which continue to make progress. The Group announced earlier this year that Alphameric Leisure has signed heads of terms with William Hill Organisation Limited to fulfil a contract valued at £25 million to supply EPoS and display system solutions to all of William Hill’s 1,600 UK Licensed Betting Offices. The contract has now been signed and a significant proportion of the contract is expected to be completed by December 2005.

Alphameric Hospitality Limited has continued to gain major long term managed service contracts for Caterwide, the Group’s web based ERP system. Contracts awarded so far this year have totalled almost £24 million.

The Continuing Group remains financially strong and has a healthy order book, and the Board is therefore confident about the financial and trading for the Continuing Group and expects that the Continuing Group will deliver a good performance in the current financial year and foreseeable future.
